September is the month where we begin to breathe in all things fall, and in our classroom that means ALL ABOUT APPLES! I have included a few ideas and resources that I have found on pinterest, instagram and TPT, that I used in my classroom for my apples week!
I have also included a FREE worksheet from Education.com! For more Kindergarten activities, check out their website!
1. Our Principal dressed up as Johnny Appleseed and read a book to the students on September 26th (his birthday)!
2. We made crock-pot applesauce! SUPER easy! You could have the kids “cut” the apples or I like to create a step-by-step list of how we should add the ingredients. The students gathered around while we went off our classroom list of steps and we added the ingredients! Pre-cut the apples o prior to save time. I am NOT a baker or cook of any kind and I was able to do this! I left the crock-pot on high with the cover off towards the end, and that made it thicker!
3. We made SEVERAL crafts…
Johnny Appleseeds and Apple Glyphs
We also made a 10 Apples Up On Top craft after reading the book
4. We read an abundance of apple themed stories and all my math and literacy activities were apple themed. I got them from The Kindergarten Connection!
5. We watched this Disney oldie by goodie from YouTube….

6. We also taste tested yellow, green and red apples and made an anchor chart graph of our favorites!
That wrapped up our week!! Let me know if you might try a few of these next time! We had so much fun!
