Let’s talk about TIME! To go along with my self-care tips, I have been trying to use my TIME better (more efficient and focused on what I can do to help myself in the near future…not my long to-do list). I get overwhelmed by seeing everything I NEED to accomplish. So I have been trying my very best to focus on what do I NEED to accomplish for the near future, not the big organization project I WANT to tackle in my classroom cupboards, for my own organization heart or the wedding plans I WANT to get ahead on, but really need to be a patient bride. What I am saying is that I LOVE planning and tackling to-do lists so much, that sometimes I try and plan/tackle “X, “Y” and “Z”, but really haven’t finished “A”, “B” and “C.” Which results in feeling overwhelmed and behind, which is not self-care at all.
I have created smaller versions of what I want to accomplish during my planning period or nights after work when I have the energy. Rather than tackling it all, I use my time wisely and think about what is realistic for me to accomplish during my planning period, or what I can accomplish after school and still get a good nights rest at a decent time…and I use a watch! Crazy strategy right!?
Since I began teaching I have become a watch girl! I have a Kate Spade gold watch, a Michael Kors tortoise shell watch and a fitbit and to be honest…I LOVE THEM ALL! I never wore a watch until I began my teaching career. I also never thought I would like a fitbit, but I have fallen in love with seeing my steps and having text messages and phone calls on my wrist! Who knew I would like something sporty?! I also have fitbit bands to change out my sporty black one.
As teachers, our day functions on TIME and schedules, so hense my new found love of watches. Instead of getting anxious and looking at the clock the whole time, I can feel more relaxed with a glance at my wrist.
However, with this new found love of watches…I wanted something that was between my sporty fit bit and my heavy “fancy” fashion watches. This is where my JORD (pronounced Yode) watch came in!
Friends…it is light, it is stylish, it is the natural style that literally goes with everything (even jean day, teacher tee Friday) and I am collaborating with JORD to give one lucky winner $100 towards their purchase by clicking here.
You can also receive $10 off your purchase just by entering! Can you say…win, win?!
I love the natural wood style quality of it, and did I mention that it is LIGHT! Teaching is fast paced and we use are arms…literally all day. I want something that feels like it isn’t there but looks like it is because I love my accessories!
To sum up my planning time strategies: 1.make a smaller version of your near future “to-do’s” and 2. get yourself a watch, teacher friend!
